Jack TALBOT was born on 24th August 1904 Newmarket 3b:461 son of Thomas William and Rebecca TALBOT (née BAILEY) of 4 Council Houses, Townsend, Soham

He married Primrose Mabel RANNER in 4th qtr 1939 Cambridge 3b:2127, and they lived at Quay Fen Common, Soham

1911 census...Aged 6, Jack was at Station Road, Soham with his father Thomas W TALBOT,[32] a cement works fitter born Soham; his mother Rebecca [31] born Burwell; sisters Mabel V [10], Beartrice [7] and Ivy [2]; brother Victor [5]. All the children were born in Soham. His mother had lost one child.



In the 1939 register, he was a gardener, living with his widowed invalid mother and sister Beatrice at 4 Council Houses, Townsend, Soham.


On 30th January 1941 Jack was at the Chicory Factory in Lakenheath, delivering roots. A lone German raid flew over, dropped 3 bombs near the factory and machine gunned the plant. He was buried in Soham.
